Chloe Sevigny Gives "It" Girl Endorsement to Ribbon Trend

I don't know about you all, but Chloƫ Sevigny has always been my indicator of what is actually in style, especially when it comes to style. With the impending debut of her highly anticipated FX series "Feud: Capote vs. the Swan" about to air, we get to see what the queen of fashion is loving on the red carpet. Sevigny, for example, gave the "it" girl's seal of approval by wearing not one, but two dresses adorned with the fashion trend of bows.

For starters, the actress co-signed the ultra-girly detail at the premiere of "Feud" on Tuesday night. Upon arriving at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Sevigny procured the gown for the evening from Christopher John Rogers. She chose a bridal-inspired piece from the designer's Pre-Fall 2024 collection. Accessories were kept to a minimum, as if the bows spoke for themselves.

Sevigny's love affair with ribbons did not end there. The night before, she was on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon, wearing a voluminous, not-too-small black dress by Simone Rocha (note: the Irish designer is one of the biggest advocates of cute, frilly fashion). This little gown is from the designer's Spring/Summer 2024 collection.

Her voluminous frock fell from her shoulders, creating an asymmetrical neckline, and a huge satin ribbon embellishment loosely encircled her shoulders. She styled her statement frock with Christian Louboutin pumps and diamond earrings. Glamorous, she wore her hair in a low updo and a red lip that matched the red bottom of her heels.

Well, Sevigny isn't the only A-lister on our roster indulging in the bow trend (let's just say the list is long when it comes to celebrity inspiration!) We're not even a month into 2024, and already the motif is sweeping the red carpet: just look at Suki Waterhouse at the Emmys or Reese Witherspoon at the Critics Association Awards.

After an explosive year for "girliness" in fashion (the return of ballet flats, decorative hair bows, and of course, hot Barbie pink), we'll likely see the ribbon trend and other girlie silhouettes again this year.
