If you read Britney Spears' memoir The Woman in Me last fall and were immediately inspired to go see her 2002 film Crossroads, you're not alone. (But it wasn't found on streaming services.

For the first time ever, Netflix is adding "Crossroads" to its lineup: Netflix has announced that it will begin streaming on February 15." The first movie starring that one and only Britney Spears has never been available for streaming... But that is about to change!" was the caption of the streaming giant's announcement, along with a poster photo of CROSSROADS." We are thrilled to announce that CROSSROADS will finally be available on Netflix Global starting February 15."

[4 [In addition to Spears' star power, the film stars Zoe SaldaƱa, Taryn Manning, Kim Cattrall, Justin Long, and Dan Aykroyd, and was written by none other than Shonda Rhimes, in case you missed the first "Crossroads" 22 years ago. In case you missed the first "Crossroads" 22 years ago, the film "tells the story of three childhood friends, Lucy, Kit, and Mimi, who rediscover their friendship on a cross-country trip after an eight-year absence.

"Mimi's handsome friend Ben takes her for a ride in his convertible.

The film was not a big hit with critics, but was a box office success, grossing over $60 million in 2002.

Although it has never appeared on streaming services, "Crossroads" was re-released in 874 theaters in 20 countries in October to coincide with the release of Spears' book and a special fan event. We are beyond thrilled that Sony Music Entertainment, RCA Records, and Trafalgar Releasing are re-releasing "Crossroads" in theaters. I recently rewatched "Crossroads" and was so mesmerized by the time capsule of nostalgia that this wonderful ensemble cast brings to the screen. Britney is truly breathtaking to watch and Shonda shows us her early expertise in writing complex female characters. We had the best time in the world making this film and the connection the actresses bring to their performances is evident in every frame. The music will definitely make the audience dance and sing along and everyone will enjoy watching this scene as much as we did creating it. I am so grateful that with the release of Crossroads, people will get to see Britney shine again."
