Jennifer Lopez's New Movie Trailer Is a Chaotic, CGI-Laden Journey to Find True Love

When Jennifer Lopez announced the release of her highly anticipated studio album, This Is Me.... .Now," fans immediately wondered how the superstar would bring her much-publicized romantic history to life when she announced that she would be releasing a feature-length film musical to accompany the album. And now, with the release of "Dis is Me... The first full-length trailer for Now has been released: a stunning look at J.Lo's romance through a chaotic and fantastic lens.

In the two-minute trailer, you'll have the same fever dream you had when you first saw "Cloud Atlas" or "Cats". (A snowy building made of glass, a twilight homage to "Singin' In the Rain," her own heart (?). In more narrative scenes, the multi-hyphenate recalls her life in therapy sessions, and in one sequence, her friends stage an intervention in which they question whether she is a sex addict.

The film seems to center on Lopez reflecting on her three previous marriages, with three actors (including Tony Bellissimo and Trevor Jackson) playing her romantic partners in each scene. There is also a scene in which Lopez and her current husband, Ben Affleck, are involved in a motorcycle accident while riding through a swamp. (Perhaps alluding to their early relationship and their breakup.)

"I know what they say about me, about hopeless romantics: we are weak. But I am not weak," Lopez says at the beginning of the trailer.

"I learned the hard way that not every story has a happy ending."

The official synopsis calls the film "a story-driven cinematic odyssey, steeped in mythic narrative and personal healing. With fantastic costumes, breathtaking choreography, and gorgeous cameos, this panorama is an introspective retrospective of Jennifer's resilient spirit.

Several celebrity appearances appear in the trailer, including Fat Joe (of course) as a therapist and Derek Hough, Lopez's former colleague from World of Dance, as one of her husbands. Other celebrities expected to appear include Trevor Noah, Kim Petras, Post Malone, Keke Palmer, Sofia Vergara, Jennifer Lewis, Jay Shetty, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Sadhguru.

Lopez celebrated the trailer's release on her Instagram, writing, "I haven't been this nervous, excited, scared, and excited to share something with you guys in years!" He wrote, "This Is Me .... This Is Me ...Then" to "This Is Me ...Now". . the story of my journey from 'This Is Me ...Then' to 'This Is Me ...Now' is the most personal thing I have ever done."

This Is Me.... .Now: a 65-minute storybook musical/visual album, will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime on February 16, and the album will be released the same day. Watch the trailer below.
