There are roles that every actor or actress has experienced. It's the role you really wanted but didn't get, or, if you're a more accomplished performer, the role you regretted turning down. For Dan Levy, that role was one of Ken in Greta Gerwig's blockbuster "Barbie" (in addition to Ryan Gosling's #1 Ken, Sim Liu, Kingsley Ben Adir, John Cena, Nuchi Gatwa, and Scott Evans played other Ken)

Levy told People that he had to turn down the role due to scheduling conflicts: "Logistically, even though I tried really hard to do it, it just didn't work out. So I guess it just wasn't technically possible."

Levy is a big fan of Gerwig, telling the magazine, "I think Greta had this wonderfully weird and magical aesthetic idea of what that movie was about. 'I wanted to play in her world. I think she is one of the great young writers of our time."

Levy frequently ponders the missed opportunity, and "People" reported that for the actor, "FOMO was real and lingering": Levy said it "sometimes haunts him as he sleeps at night." He added: "This is one of the greatest films of all time. It was a tough, tough day."

Levy's next project is the Netflix film Good Grief, which he wrote, directed, and starred in. In the film he plays an artist who gets over the death of her husband by taking a trip to Paris with her two best friends.
